Our Jiu-Jitsu coaches in the Isle of Man are committed to providing high quality coaching, a safe training environment and a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who walks through our doors. Whether your goal is fitness, confidence, mental wellbeing, learning self defence, competition or simply challenging yourself with something new, our coaching team works hard to help every student progress at their own pace.

Jiu-Jitsu Coaches Isle of Man — at T45 Jiu-Jitsu Isle of Man, we take huge pride in the quality of our coaching staff and the environment we provide for our students.

All of our coaches are first aid trained, DBS checked, and genuinely passionate about the sport of Jiu Jitsu. Our coaching team is always looking to improve by continuing to train, attend classes, study the sport, and gain as much knowledge and experience as possible.

Whenever we can, we aim to bring high level seminars to the Isle of Man to help both our students and coaches continue developing. When that isn’t possible, we regularly travel away to train with some of the best coaches and athletes available, making sure we continue learning and improving both as coaches and competitors.

As of 2026, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our coaching staff and students, T45 Jiu Jitsu Isle of Man has proudly earned 10 team trophies at competitions. This is something we are incredibly proud of and something we aim to continue building on for years to come.

Our Jiu-Jitsu coaches in the Isle of Man continue to develop through competition experience, seminars, travel and ongoing study of the sport, helping us provide the best possible experience for our students.

Above everything else, our main goal is to provide the best possible service to our members through high level coaching, a safe training environment, and a welcoming atmosphere where everyone can enjoy learning and progressing in Jiu-Jitsu.

Myles Joughin

Head Coach

I’ve dedicated my life to Jiu Jitsu, competing at events all over the world from local competitions to IBJJF Opens and major championships, along with ADCC opens, super fight appearances and training camps with some of the best coaches and competitors in the sport.

I was proud to become the first person from the Isle of Man to win a gold medal at black belt level, as well as the first to win a match on the IBJJF World Championship stage.

As a coach, I’m constantly looking to improve and expand my knowledge of Jiu Jitsu. Whether that’s travelling for training, learning from high level athletes and coaches, or bringing seminars to the island, my goal has always been to give students the best possible coaching and help grow the sport in the Isle of Man.

My focus is creating a welcoming environment where people can learn real, effective Jiu Jitsu while enjoying the process and improving at their own pace.

Catherine Moor

Coach

Catherine has been coaching and competing in Jiu Jitsu for many years, helping students of all ages grow in confidence both on and off the mats. From coaching kids’ classes and adult sessions to competing at local shows and major competitions, she’s played a huge part in the growth of Jiu Jitsu on the Isle of Man.

She was also one of the first female competitors from the island to win gold in competition, helping inspire the next generation of women in the sport. Catherine was also the first female from the Isle of Man to compete in Jiu-Jitsu at a semi-professional level helping pave the way for women in the local grappling scene.

As a coach, Catherine focuses on making Jiu-Jitsu fun, welcoming, and a safe place for everyone to train. She’s especially known for being a fantastic kids’ coach, helping younger students build confidence, discipline, and enjoy every class along the way.

Outside the gym, Catherine enjoys spending time with her animals, practising yoga, and also teaches yoga classes at T45

William Christian

Coach

William has been competing and coaching since the very beginning of his Jiu Jitsu journey. From the moment he stepped onto the mats, it was clear he had a sharp eye for learning and a real passion for helping others improve.

Over the years, Will has become a fantastic coach, helping with the kids’ classes and now stepping into coaching adults too showing just how dedicated he is to growing Jiu Jitsu for the next generation on the Isle of Man.

Alongside coaching, William continues to inspire students through his competition journey, consistently working hard every time he competes. One of his biggest achievements so far was winning elite Junior Worlds a huge milestone and only the beginning of what’s to come.

Whether he’s coaching, competing, or supporting teammates, Will always brings positive energy and a willingness to help others grow both on and off the mats.

Outside the gym, William enjoys spending time with his family and having fun with his friends

Harry Brereton

Coach

Harry is one of the most experienced martial artists on the Isle of Man, having trained for an extensive period of time. His roots come from Black Dog MMA under the coaching of Andy Lawrence, a coach who has had a huge impact on martial arts locally.

While Harry’s main passion has always been MMA, he brought his MMA grappling style into Jiu Jitsu, helping grow the sport on the island and giving students a different style of grappling to learn from. His coaching has helped pass down fantastic knowledge and techniques developed through years of training and experience.

Harry is especially known for his excellent takedown knowledge and strong judo skills, which have become a huge favourite with members at the club. Whether it’s wrestling entries, trips, throws, or control work, he’s always happy to help people improve and build confidence in areas that many people struggle with.

More than anything, Harry brings great energy to the mats and genuinely enjoys helping the next generation of grapplers develop and enjoy training.

Outside of Jiu Jitsu, Harry enjoys playing rugby and spending time with his family.

Jordan Christian

Coach

Jordan was one of the very first coaches at T45 Jiu Jitsu Isle of Man and has played a huge role in helping shape the team into what it is today. From the beginning, he has always pushed himself to learn as much Jiu Jitsu as possible, constantly studying the sport and developing his knowledge on the mats.

Jordan is especially known for his love of leg locks, back attacks, and his strong guard game. His passion for playing guard has helped show students how effective positioning, timing, and control can completely change a match. Through his coaching, he’s helped the next generation understand not just techniques, but how to think through situations and improve their overall game.

As a coach, Jordan has always brought patience, knowledge, and a real passion for helping others improve. He’s been a massive part of the growth of T45 Jiu Jitsu Isle of Man and continues to inspire both teammates and students through his dedication to the sport.

Outside of Jiu Jitsu, Jordan enjoys spending time with his family and going on walks with his dog

Philip Cowgill

Coach

Phil is an amazing all round coach with strong knowledge in every area of Jiu Jitsu. Whether it’s passing, submissions, escapes, or positional control, Phil loves breaking techniques down and getting into the finer details that help students truly understand how and why things work.

One of the things that makes Phil stand out as a coach is his hands on approach to teaching. He’s always willing to jump in with the team, help people work through positions, and guide students through their own Jiu Jitsu journey step by step. His coaching has played a huge part in helping build the team and supporting members as they continue to grow on the mats.

Phil brings great energy to every session and always wants to help people improve, no matter their level or experience. His passion for teaching and attention to detail have made him a massive part of the team at T45 Jiu Jitsu Isle of Man.
